National Survey examines Aged and Community Care Providers’ innovative use of technology

May 06, 2020

Aged Care Industry Information Technology Council (ACIITC) circulated the CARE-IT Survey to all registered aged and community care providers.

The survey forms part of a larger project for the Aged and Community Care Industry including an Environmental Scan and a soon to be released technology vendor survey. The outcomes of the research will culminate in the CARE IT Report.

In March 2020, ACIITC was funded by the Department of Health to deliver the Capabilities in Aged & Community Care Readiness: An Evaluation of Innovation & Technology (CARE-IT) Research Project. This project is due to be completed by the end of June 2020. The objectives of this research project are to deliver: an environmental scan, a national aged & community care industry survey, and a technology vendor survey culminating in an evaluation report. The project is aiming to understand aged and community care industry innovation and technology capabilities and readiness in the following areas:

  • Business support and administrative systems;
  • Reporting and online access to government;
  • Surveillance and monitoring technologies;
  • Telehealth; and
  • Smart Care Technologies.

Dr George Margelis, ACIITC Chair, said “The CARE-IT Project provides an important opportunity for industry stakeholders to be involved in this landmark study. We encourage all service providers to participate in this in-depth survey”, Dr George went on to say that, “The outcomes of this project will inform future strategic directions of the care industry”.
