Minister for Aged Care and Senior Australians to launch important ACIITC publication which adds a significant understanding of the current levels of digital maturity of the sector. The report identifies significant opportunities technology and innovation can offer to the aged and community care sector.
The Minister for Aged Care and Senior Australian, Senator Richard Colbeck MP, will be launching the Capabilities in Aged & Community Care Readiness: An Evaluation of Innovation & Technology (CARE IT) Report on Thursday 26 November 2020.
The Aged Care Industry Information Technology Council (ACIITC) was established to focus on harnessing innovation and technology to help a create sustainable and high quality aged and community care sector in Australia.
To progress this mission, the ACIITC has completed a series of research projects – including landmark Technology Roadmaps for the Australian Aged Care Sector in 2017 and the publication in late 2019 of an updated literature review report – Aged and Community Care Sector Technology and Innovative Practice.
In March 2020, the ACIITC was funded by the Department of Health to deliver the Capabilities in Aged & Community Care Readiness: An Evaluation of Innovation & Technology (CARE-IT) research project. The project undertook an environmental scan, an aged and community care industry survey, and a technology vendor survey, culminating in a final report.
The CARE-IT Project report adds significantly to the collective understanding of the sector, its current level of digital maturity and the significant opportunities technology and innovation can offer in providing a more sustainable and high-quality industry.
The project aimed to assess the innovation and technology capabilities and readiness of the Aged and Community Care industry in the following areas:
- Business support and administration;
- Reporting and online access to government;
- Surveillance and monitoring technologies;
- Telehealth; and
- Smart Care at Home Technologies.
The outcomes of the CARE-IT project will inform future strategic directions and investment strategies. The project will benchmark technology and innovation for the sector, furthering the ACIITC 2017 Technology Roadmap’s technology and innovation building activities.
The ACIITC invites you to attend the virtual launch to hear the outcomes of this important research work. The research considers the future innovation and technology strategic directions needed for aged and community care sector.
The launch will be held on 26 November 2020, 10:00 am – 11:30 am AEDT, via zoom webinar. To register for the event visit www.aciitc.com.au
