Aged Care Industry Information Technology Council Chair, Dr George Margelis opening ITAC2022

Innovation Technology Across Care (ITAC) 2022 was a highly successful event with an enthusiastic group of delegates eager to jump back in to networking face to face   about innovation and technology in aged care.

The theme for this year’s ITAC Conference was “Technology for a Sustainable Care Sector”, that 8 plenary sessions over two days with a variety of panelists providing their knowledge and insight in the aged care industry.

ITAC 2022 also saw a variety of exhibitors and vendors, with a substantial number of new products being advertised. It was interesting to see the advancements and developments with digital assistance, artificial intelligence, and the role of app development/social platforms in ensuring consumers feel connected to others during difficult times.

After dealing with the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic over the past few years, the aged care sector has taken a hard hit with issues such as workforce shortages, ensuring quality digitally enabled care, cybersecurity and infrastructure requirements and leading innovations in aged care technology – on top of responding to COVID-19 and Government Aged Care Reform Agenda. During this difficult time, advancing digital health and technology in aged care has never been more critical for both consumers and providers. ITAC 2022 provided the perfect opportunity for everyone involved in the sector to come together to discuss  the issues faced and work towards future innovation and technology solutions.

Thank you to everyone who attended the conference, thank you to exhibitors for taking the time to display your products to delegates and a major thank you to the sponsors of the event!
