The Aged Care Industry Information Technology Council (ACIITC) is collaborating with the Australian Digital Health Agency to deliver a digital maturity aged and community care project. The project will engage with the aged and community care sector to co-design a digital maturity assessment framework aimed at enabling aged care providers to assess their level of digital maturity and develop a tool to support improvement in the organisation’s digital maturity.

National Survey

Aged and community service providers are encouraged to complete the digital maturity survey aimed to gauge and measure the for digital maturity in the sector.

The survey builds on previous bodies of work including:

  • Part A: Focused on all aged & community care providers. Developed from a range of sources including the original ACIITC CARE- IT survey in a framework drawing on the work of researchers from the University of Queensland (Dr Lee Woods) and Queensland University of Technology (Rhona Duncan).
  • Part B: Focused on residential aged care, based on Professor Gregory Alexander’s work, from Columbia University. Was used in NSW in 2017 and the framework has been used extensively in USA and Canada.

Each residential aged care and community care provider will receive an invitation to participate in the national survey to their Department of Health and Aged Care registered email.

The aim is for senior-level executive who has the responsibility for digital service provision to complete the survey which is estimated to take 1 hour for residential aged care and 30 minutes for community care providers.

The results of the survey will be published to those who complete the survey in a PowerPoint format to allow organisations to use the data to support their own digital maturity.

The survey will be open until Friday 12 May 2023.
